Inspiration for the Independent Tee Shirt
I did this for the women who always had a voice, but no one would listen to them, because of the male chauvinist ego of dominance, power and intimidation. You know the dumb trophy wife, get in the kitchen, or I make more money than you attitude.
This is for the females that are not in the board room meetings to get your coffee and pass out papers while looking pretty. Not here to smile and nod in agreement with everything you say. You are here, because you have an opinion. You want to command the meetings with your insights and experience.
You are very sexy, dependent and confident with your actions. You don’t settle for any man for lust. You want a God fearing man to love you and stand by your side. You don’t need anyone to pay your bills, because you write your own checks and will always be career driven.
Simply put, when you want something you don’t ask… You go after it because you are head strong and a boss. That’s what makes a woman INDEPENDENT!!!
Concept behind the design
It’s funny how you see traditional symbols and wonder what they where thinking when they put that together. It’s almost like you want to challenge the universal design.
When I look at a woman I see shape and curves. So instead of the grandma dress I added breasts proportioned to her waist line. To give sassiness and a diva like attitude I put her hands on her hips. To give the I stand alone on my decisions I added the drop shadow.
